Is there anything better on a weekend than adorable photos of a sloth bear acting like a dog? We don’t think so! Check out these pictures of the playful Buddu.
Buddu wandered into the village following a herd of goats, and ended up staying with the Kisan family. If you’re concerned about Buddu’s fate, worry no more. The cub, seen here getting his hair combed by Juli, was taken from the family by wildlife officials Friday.
Photographer Jutta Kirchner captured these photos of Siberian tigers in Tiergarten Schönbrunn zoo in Vienna, Austria. Standing on their hind legs, the two playful tigers appear to be dancing ballroom style.
This tiny baby koala was orphaned when its mother was hit by a car in New South Wales. The little ball of fur was found unconscious and badly bruised near his mother’s body. Weighing just 750grams, hopes for his recovery were slim.
He was taken to a dedicated ‘koala hospital’ north of Sydney, the only one of its kind in the world. Described as a refugee camp for the koalas injured in car accidents as their natural habitat is invaded by new road networks, it rehabilitates the cute marsupials with the aim of eventually returning them to the wild.
Under the devoted care of hospital staff, Jimmy made a surprisingly speedy recovery. As soon as he was feeling up to it, carers began to socialise him with other koalas at the hospital – and that was when his mischievous streak emerged.Staff at the centre began to photograph Jimmy in the odd positions they found him in, exploring the seating areas and playing in the sink among other unusual activities.
Jimmy has since been deemed healthy enough for return to the wild, and staff at the koala hospital are sure that he will be the alpha male of his new territory. “He was a little devil actually,” joked one of the carers.
A group of kittens were rescued from a farm whose life would otherwise been terminated to control population in the area. Fran Wylie, an animal rescuer from Canada, has gone on a quest in trapping as many feral and stray kitties as possible, hoping to give them the second chance they deserve. These tiny little gingers were scared after relocation to a new place until they were greeted by Alice, a rescue cat herself who took to them like her own.
Habitat loss is threatening the survival of wildlife worldwide. Natural environments are being destroyed and fragmented by human activity, wiping out species’ food sources, dispersing populations and leaving animals around the world literally homeless or displaced. These images of wild animals placed within an urban setting aim to provide a shocking reminder that wildlife is losing its habitat at an alarming rate.
How interesting can animal life be is something which we can only guess. By looking these amazing photographs it seems that they have very funny and precious moments. Would you like to be monkey, or elephant, or maybe cat sometimes? Don’t worry if you do because this has happened all of us at least ones, for now enjoy these rare photos!
When a group of dog rescuers arrived at the market to show the dogs available for adoption, somebody had left 12 puppies on the street – 8 of them were approximately 5 weeks old. In shock, the rescuers didn’t know what to do. The group had recently canceled several adoption days at the market because of bad weather, so they were over their capacity with puppies still needing to be adopted out. Also, the abandoned puppies were so small that they needed to be fed every two hours, including at night.
That’s when a spayed stray dog approached, lay down beside the shoe box where the puppies were sleeping, and began caring for them.
She wouldn’t let anyone get near the babies.
Very carefully, the rescuers placed the puppies closer to her.
She began caressing them and offering the warmth of her belly to the newborns.
The maternal instinct kicked in and…
after a few hours, she had milk and was feeding the puppies.
The rescue group named her Vida, which means “life” in Portuguese.
Loyalty is faithfulness or a devotion to a person, country, group, or cause.There are many aspects to loyalty. Animals as pets have a large sense of loyalty to humans which may be more human-to-human loyalty. Famous cases include Greyfriars Bobby who attended his master’s grave for fourteen years; Hachiko, who returned to the place he used to meet his master every day for nine years after his death;and Foxie, the spaniel belonging to Charles Gough, who stayed by her dead master’s side for three months on Helvellyn in the Lake District in 1805 (the fact that Gough’s body was eaten by his dog was ignored in subsequent Romantic accounts of the story).
In the Mahabharata, the righteous King Yudhisthira, at the end of his life, appeared at the gates of Heaven. He had previously lost his brothers and his wife to death, and when he appeared at the gates his only remaining companion was a stray dog he had picked up along the way. The god Indra is prepared to admit him to Heaven, but refuses to admit the dog. Yudhistira refuses to abandon the dog, and prepares to turn away from the gates of Heaven. Then the dog is revealed to be the manifestation of Dharma, the god of righteousness and justice, and who turned out to be his deified self. Yudhistira enters heaven in the company of his dog, the god of righteousness. Yudhistira is known by the epithet Dharmaputra, the lord of righteous duty.
